Join local poetry professor and esteemed author, Laure-Anne Bosselaar, for an informal conversation about poetry.
This is not a class, and does not have an academic approach - just a warm chat about poems and poets writing today.
Laure-Anne will provide handouts and might, from time to time, bring a local poet friend to read one or two of their poems and talk bout them. This is free and open to everyone: from those who think they don't "understand" poetry to the poetry enthusiast. Drop by!
About the facilitator: Laure-Anne Bosselaar is a Belgian- American poet, translator, professor, and former poet laureate of Santa Barbara, California. She is the author of many award - winning collections of poetry, most recently her 2024 publication of Lately.

We’ll turn fresh farmers’ market produce, fragrant spices, coconut, and lentils into crispy fermented dosas, fresh coconut chutney, and soul-warming sambar. Along the way, we’ll explore fermentation, spice tempering, and approachable techniques you can take straight home to your own kitchen. Because food is more than something we eat; it’s heritage, creativity, connection, and a very good reason to gather around the table.

In this 90-minute workshop, Classical Flying Stars Feng Shui consultant Denise Mazan explores how our surroundings affect the way we feel—from light, clutter and flow to the spaces where we sleep, gather and nourish ourselves.Denise will share practical Feng Shui principles you can use in your home right away, focusing on three of its most influential spaces: the entry, bedroom and kitchen. She’ll also introduce the principles behind Classical Feng Shui, how it differs from the modern Feng Shui advice you may have encountered, and what she looks at when assessing the unique energy of an individual home.The workshop will conclude with approachable ways to incorporate Feng Shui remedies beautifully into your home, followed by an open Q&A.
About Denise: Denise Mazan brings more than a decade of high-end interior design experience to her practice as a Classical Flying Stars Feng Shui consultant. Her approach combines compass-based Feng Shui with a trained eye for design, translating ancient principles into practical, beautiful guidance for the way we live today.
