Japanese Home Cooking with Chef Sonoko Sakai

We are excited to welcome chef Sonoko Sakai back to domecíl for a homemade dumpling workshop!

In Asia, dumplings are eaten not only during the Lunar New Year but throughout the year. During this workshop, you'll work together to make delicious, juicy dumplings from scratch and how to make a few different fillings. Sonoko will show you a variety of methods for wrapping and cooking them in three ways: steamed, pan fried and boiled. You'll make mochi dumplings for a fresh fruit dessert, served with a citrus simple syrup. Sonoko will treat you to her special pickles and some delicious premium sake. Workshop will be limited to 8 people.

All recipes are from Sonoko's latest cookbook, Wafu Cooking which was named one of the 16 best cookbooks of 2024 by The New York Times and Eater.
